Our Own Chiropractic Miracle Story
(This is why we
do what we do with passion!)
In 1992, Kimberly Goreham (the founder
of ChiroWorks/866MyChiro) was severely hurt in a traumatic auto accident. She was
six months pregnant at the time of the accident.
The impact of the accident led to:
§
a herniated disk in Kimberly’s neck between C4-C5
§
a subluxated left shoulder
§
ripped uterine ligaments
§
premature labor (lasting for weeks)
§
extreme back and neck pain
§
a nonstop migraine headache which produced daily
The medical professionals who examined
her at the emergency room offered her little comfort or even a proper diagnosis
since Kimberly could not be exposed to X-rays for the baby’s sake. Tylenol 3 with
Codeine was prescribed to Kimberly for pain control and a pager monitor was strapped
uncomfortably around her belly to monitor the non-stop contractions. Because the
insurance did not cover overnight hospital stays for auto accidents, Kimberly was
released from the emergency room still in labor and directed to call 911 if the
contractions got too much for her to bear. Kimberly had huge concerns about taking
heavy narcotics while she was pregnant so she suffered through all of the pain without
drugs.
On Monday after the accident Kimberly
made an appointment to see her medical doctor for some advice and help. Kimberly
still couldn’t sit, walk, stand, sleep, or eat with out being in constant pain and
misery. The prognosis was bad after the tests showed that Kimberly had lost weight
after the accident due to vomiting from the migraine headaches and constant nausea.
The pain in her neck, back, head, and shoulder was making Kimberly miserable and
the contractions were almost unbearable. “There’s nothing else that we can do for
you or the baby accept what we’ve already instructed you to do,” is what the doctor
told Kimberly.
After three of the worst weeks of
Kimberly’s life she decided to take matters into her own hands. After the last doctor
appointment and several trips to the emergency room to stop out of control labor
pains, enough was enough.
Kimberly looked for alternative types
of treatments for her specific problems and was told repeatedly to stay away from
Chiropractors by her medical doctors. A friend of Kimberly’s recommended that a
good massage therapist could possibly work away some of her stress and discomfort.
Reluctantly, she searched the yellow
pages to find a reputable massage therapist and was more than a little shocked by
the variety of massages that she could try. Kimberly found a sports massage therapist
located inside of a professional Chiropractor’s office and called for an appointment.
The day of the appointment arrived
and Kimberly was nervous and didn’t want anything to trigger more premature labor.
The massage therapist came into the room and did a quick evaluation and confirmed
that Kimberly was in very bad shape. She asked for Kimberly to wait for a minute
while she asked the doctor for his approval to give her a massage. Dr. Hall came
in and introduced himself and asked if Kimberly minded if he took a look at her
injuries before the massage.
Dr. Hall gave Kimberly a thorough
examination and told her that there was a lot wrong with the way that her bones
were sitting. He explained what needed to be done and how and why it would benefit
Kimberly and her baby greatly. She decided that she had nothing left to lose and
sat still for her first adjustment.
Kimberly went to the Chiropractor
and followed his recommendations for 3 weeks and noticed a positive difference in
her migraines, neck, and back pain immediately. Kimberly began to gain weight again
and the early tests showed that her baby was doing much better. Kimberly continued
to see Dr. Hall until her healthy baby girl “Brynn (sounds like
Chiropractic care was the gentle type
of care that Kimberly needed to get back on the road to recovery. After her life
changing experience Kimberly was so amazed by the chiropractic profession that she
dove right in and became a massage therapist and worked in a chiropractor’s office
for 51/2 years. While working in the chiropractic profession, Kimberly witnessed
the healing transformation of hundreds of patients. After moving to the central
While working with Dr. Dubrul, Kimberly
learned even more about the healing philosophy of chiropractic and the true meaning
of community service. Due to her effective marketing methods and passion for chiropractic,
Dr. Dubrul encouraged Kimberly to start her own consulting and marketing company
to help other chiropractors to reach out and help people in need.
Kimberly witnessed hundreds of healing
miracle stories while working in the chiropractic field and wanted to share chiropractic
with the world! ChiroWorks/866MyChiro was born in November of 1998 and Kimberly
& her husband Don along with the entire ChiroWorks team have spread the healing
message of chiropractic to thousands of people in need.
